Proclaiming Christ and Making Disciples

ProLife Corner - Event Calendar

ProLife Corner | Event Calendar

There are many ways in which participation in prolife movements is being asked.  At Maternity of Mary and Holy Childhood, we host several events during the course of the year in which fundraising for prolife initiatives is at our core.  Due to Covid-19, we have been forced to limit in person activities but are always interested and open to virtual options as well.  Below is a list of events we currently have in the works.

If you know of more that can help expand our prolife brand, please feel free to contact us with ways you would like to be involved!

September ProLife  Adopt a Child

This program is an opportunity to pledge a daily prayer for nine months for a baby who is in danger of abortion.  This special prayer is found on the Spiritual Adoption Prayer cards found in the entry of the church on the card which you can put the name of the "baby" you are praying for.  For the parents of the baby, please pray a daily Hail Mary.  Pray that God in His great mercy will grant the parents the courage to once more imitate the lives of Mary and Joseph.  They gave a humble yes to bring forth the life of Jesus, our Savior, in a way that was defiant to the wisdom of their time.

It is an opportunity to educate others about the development of the pre-born baby.  At the end of nine months, to align with the Mother's Day timeframe, we will be collecting baby bottles and diapers/supplies to donate to area pregnancy resources.  This collection is a visible means of imitating the Magi by providing assistance in the form of a donated baby item.

Our prayers CAN make a difference between whether a baby will be born … or aborted.  Our prayers can also be a form of spiritual support for both of the parents.  Please share the love of life given to you by the Lord of all life and join in spiritually adopting a baby.

  • Location: Maternity of Mary Church, Sirba Hall
  • Time: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Join us for an essential Fall Tour as we look ahead after Roe.

Each fall, MCCL travels the state holding informational pro-life meetings in dozens of cities and towns. These meetings educate pro-life citizens about current trends and issues, legislation, elections, and more. They also equip citizens to make a difference in their own communities.

All Fall Tour gatherings are free and open to the public. Each one-hour presentation is delivered by a speaker from the MCCL state office; attendees also receive a packet of crucial materials. Our goal is to inform, empower, and inspire Minnesotans to be effective pro-life citizens. If you want to learn how you can help save lives, please come!

This year's meetings will focus on how we can save lives in a post-Roe Minnesota. We'll talk about the Supreme Court's landmark Dobbs v. Jackson decision, the recent district court ruling striking down pro-life laws in Minnesota, the latest abortion numbers and trends, and why the fall elections are so important for protecting unborn children and supporting their mothers.

In this exciting time for the pro-life movement—and with so much at stake this fall—you won't want to miss our essential pro-life update.

Respect Life Sunday.

The first Sunday of October (Oct. 2nd this year) is observed as Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between.  Join us for a walk around the block starting at the Rosary Garden at 3:30 p.m.  If weather is inclement, we will meet in the Chapel instead.
