Religious Education
Religion classes for first through eighth grade
students who attend public schools are held on Wednesday evenings from
6:45 pm - 8:00 pm. Instruction is also provided for students with special needs.
Volunteer teachers help students develop an understanding and appreciation
of their Catholic faith. Parents are encouraged to be involved by
supporting their children and attending family events, volunteering as
teachers or classroom aides, and serving on the Religious Education
Committee.
Preschool Religion
Separate classes for 3, 4, and 5
year olds are held during the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays from September
through May. Volunteer teachers help children develop the basic
foundations for Catholic Christian life.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
For anyone interested in learning
more about the Catholic faith, RCIA is a journey of faith wherein the
candidates listen and respond to the word of God within the Christian
community and grow deeper in their relationship with God and the people.
It includes shared reflection, prayer and study, friendship with a
sponsor, and celebrations of Rites in different stages. We welcome anyone
who is interested in becoming a Catholic Christian or learning more about
the faith.
Adult Education
Issues dealing with our Catholic
faith are presented periodically by staff members, guest speakers or
through the use of audio/visual materials. These presentations are
publicized in the bulletin or announced during Mass.
Bible Sharing
All parishioners are invited to
participate in this gathering to read, pray and study the sacred
scriptures. Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 10:30
am.
